January 20, 2021, Donald J. Trump left the White House to go to Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The U.S. president is Joseph Biden Jr. who is a strong liberal will be coming in after a Republican president, which means big changes are coming for our country.
Joe Biden was elected a New Castle County Councillor in 1970 and was the 6th youngest senator in American history when he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972. He was just recently elected as the 46th president of the United States.
Biden just got inaugurated yesterday and he has already halted the building of the wall around the Mexican border, removed the travel ban affecting Muslim countries, and an order reversing Trump’s decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization. But our new President has a lot more upcoming changes planned for the United States.
One of the biggest changes Joe Biden has done already is to stop the building of the wall around the Mexican border. This wall has already started being built, so the question arises of what we are going to do about the half-built wall? The wall has taken 20 million dollars per mile, and we’ve already done so much of the wall. So is Biden gonna use more money to take down the wall? We don’t know what he is going to do about the wall yet, but hopefully, it’s a good decision.
Biden also plans to get the pandemic under control. He is going to make a nation-wide mask mandate for all federal property. Where he makes all citizens wear a mask everywhere they go for 100 days straight because he thinks it will lessen the number of cases of the virus and deaths. Biden says “It’s the easiest thing you can do to reduce Covid cases, compilations, and deaths.”
According to https://abcnews.go.com/, He will reauthorize the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for young undocumented immigrants; pause all deportations; and, reverse a travel ban on visitors from 13 predominantly-Muslim countries. Which is a huge change for these Muslim countries.
These changes are only the beginning of what is going to happen with Joe Biden as our new president. They are only what has been announced or only what has already happened in his 2 days of being president. We can only wait and see what happens in the next 4 years.
