Kobe “Bean” Bryant and several others passed away in a helicopter crash.

Tragility struck the basketball fan base around the world two Sundays ago, whenever reports came out that Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna Bryant, and multiple others died in a helicopter crash early in the morning around 10 a.m.. It’s hard to write a story about this due to the total unexpectedness of Kobe’s death. Whenever an icon from a certain sport passes it’s usually expected because he/she dies from old age or a disease that we knew about.

Kobe has formed himself into becoming one of the most famous and most talked about players to ever play in the NBA. Kobe didn’t just have fame in the United States but he was worldly popular, especially in China.

His death affected not only his fan base, but multiple players as well. There had been 3 games that were scheduled to play that Sunday, but the NBA wasn’t able to cancel the game because of how random and unexpected Kobe’s death had been.

So teams who had to play decided to tribute Kobe and everything he stood for, by taking a twenty-four second shot clock violation, for the number he ended his career with, and an eight second backcourt violation, for his number he started his career with.

Many players, like many of his fans, were brought to tears after hearing the news of Kobe passing away in a helicopter crash. LeBron James is caught on camera breaking down after being told the news. LeBron showed how heartbroken he was with the passing of Kobe and Gianna, saying “Man I love you big bro. My heart goes to Vanessa and the kids. I promise you I’ll continue your legacy man! You mean so much to us all here especially #LakerNation and it’s my responsibility to put this (expletive) on my back and keep it going!! Please give me the strength from the heavens above and watch over me! I got US here! There’s so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!! #Mamba4Life #Gigi4Life ” on an Instagram post he shared the Monday following the tragedy.
