March Madness has begun and nearly 18 million brackets were filled out to participate in the NCAA Tournament Challenge. But after the second round of playoffs, no bracket remains perfect, therefore no one will win the reward for having a perfect bracket throughout the entire tournament.

The best game that I have watched this year was the Duke vs UCF game. UCF has a player named Tacko Fall who is 7 foot 6 inches tall. He was a major problem for Duke because most of the points Duke scores are in the paint, but that’s hard to do when you have a brick wall in front of you. Sadly for UCF, they gave up a 3 point lead with only 14 seconds left when Tacko Fall picked up his 5th foul and fouled out which ended up hurting his team because the last shot thrown up by UCF would’ve been a piece of cake for Tacko Fall to pick up and win the game.UCF ended up losing 77-76.

Other games weren’t as close; such as the Texas Tech vs Buffalo game where Texas Tech dominated Buffalo 78-58. Jarrett Culver took over for Texas Tech scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds giving him the double double.

Virginia played Oklahoma which was supposed to be a fairly close game, but the Cavaliers destroyed the Sooners. The final score was 63-51 which is a fairly low scoring game. Mamadi Diakite lead the Virginia Cavaliers with 14 points and 9 rebounds, one short of giving him the double double. For Oklahoma, Brady Manek had 13 points and 5 rebounds, but with little help from his teammates the Sooners were cut short from winning.

Houston blew past Ohio State 74-59 which was expected. Purdue stomped over Villanova 87-61. UNC beat Washington 81-59. Virginia Tech beat Liberty 67-58. Auburn pulled through against the Kentucky Wildcats who have the reputation of being the best.

Another game that was fairly close was the Tennessee vs Iowa game. Tennessee is my pick to win the whole tournament, but a very good Iowa team almost pulled off the upset. When the final buzzer rang the score was tied at 71. Tennessee pulled through strong in overtime scoring 12 points while the Iowa Hawkeyes scored only 6 points. Tennessee has a very good, mature team and I hope to see them go far in the tournament.
