On October 20, 2016, Rockstar games released the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, and an unclear view of the protagonist led some to believe he was a member of the Marston family. However, the game’s second trailer, viewable above, revealed the main character as an outlaw named Arthur Morgan. He’s a member of the Van der Linde gang and appears to have more questionable morals than most of Rockstar’s previous protagonists, threatening to kill a boy who recently lost his father, and shaking down another traveler on behalf of the gang. In the trailer, Morgan says that his gang has traveled all over the western frontier and is wanted in three states.

Two years later, on October 26, 2018, Rockstar games released the prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption released in May of 2010 called Red Dead Redemption 2. This game is set in the time period of 1899. This is a game that gamers have waited on for years and now it is finally here. This game consists of a story mode where you can play by yourself and an online mode that hasn’t came out yet, for people to play with friends. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game based in the wild west cowboy days, where you can be an outlaw if you wanted or be a bounty hunter for the sheriff of the town. Also, in this game you can ride horses, which is pretty self explanatory since the game is staged in such an early time period. This game is a first or third person game; you can play in whichever mode you prefer.

More about the game:

After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan (the main character you play as) and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him. Along this journey you face several complications such as fighting off wolves and fighting off bears in order to survive and keep the journey going.

This game is a western version of Grand Theft Auto where the cars are replaced with horses.  In the game there is one major city that replicates New Orleans and has things like saloons and bars. The city looks ‘gorgeous’ according to video game critics. The game has already made millions and it will soon surpass the original games sales of  roughly $900,000,000.
