The Titanic was debatably one of the worst accidents in history, tied with Hurricane Katrina for about 1500 deaths in a single fateful event. The 1912 disaster is still remembered to this day as a lesson in the dangers of arrogance. Being as awful of a tragedy as it was, it seemed unlikely the boat would ever be rebuilt. However, now that the financial situation has been resolved, construction is set to start on the famous Titanic II. The ship is set to finish construction in 2022, and will follow the original luxury liner’s voyage, going from Southampton to New York. The ship will also allegedly circumnavigate the globe, “inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivalled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits,” says Clive Palmer, the Australian business magnate responsible for this fruitful endeavor.

The boat will feature an identical room layout and furnishing setup to the original Titanic, but it will feature 21st century technology to ensure that passengers are receiving a top of the line experience. The reconstruction of the boat was announced back in 2013, in order to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the horrific tragedy, though the actual construction was forced to be delayed until now due to an aforementioned financial constraint. Fingers crossed this one pays attention to those nasty icebergs, I hear they can be dangerous.
